Hey Native speakers! Come and help us!

If you are a native speaker of English, please help us with
those questions that we are losing sleep over.

In this day and age, you can't live in Japan if you criticise Mao
in public.

>>952
I criticize Mao always.

Tani Ryoko is disgusting. She pretends to be nice, but if you
carefully listen to her, she's always showing off her achievements.
Her hunger for fame will never be fed.

>>954
How?

There's no such person as a native speaker.

Who are you talking to? What do you mean by such?

When you cut the cheese, why don't you put a bottle or something
on your asshole, make it, and you can smell the accumulated fart
to your heart's content.

Kimmy Mizener is the second to the throne of the princess of American figure skating,
I understand. But she's unfortunate. She lives in the same era as Mao does.

Absolutely no idea. maybe he got concussed so he can't
remember anything he's said and done.

>>962
You must be kidding. LOL~~~
He's just a random poster. He didn't know what's going on her,
and still wanted to make a comment. Don't call him a know-it-all brat! LOL~~

Fame isn't everything. She seems to forget that.

I started to think there were no native speakers in a message
system like this. It's a pain to read Japanese for English speaking
people, you know. The Japanese language must be a puzzle which needs
great decoding skills. Thinking this way, it's meaningless to ask for
help here. We'd better go see oversea sites.

Figure skate is also popular in America.

Is Bush suppposed to win the election? But if he loses, what will happen?
The president will get american soldiers in Iraq back to their daily life?
America is faced with a difficult problem now. Their decision will have
a great impact on how the world will be.

>>967
The current election is not a presidential election.

>>968
I wonder if the number of seats Republicans have doesn't matter.

One more question. Let's say Bush loses, and his trusted lietenants will be
going in the same direction as they have proceeded?

Politics is boring! Let's talk about something funnier! LOL~~
What colour is your favorite? Mine is blue.
What about you?

Mine is crimson red.

Bush was active for the past several days, wasn't he?
He had North Korea back in the meeting. Sadam was sentenced to death.
And he was moving back and forth, from coast to coast.

>>972
So you are passionate like burning fire.

Was Saddam's sentencing Bush's doing?

Their(iraq people's and Bush's) interests were matched, I guess.

Has anyone played Half-Life 2?

At the beginning of the game, the suit guy says
"Wake up Mr.Freeman, wake up and smell the ashes."

What does "smell the ashes" mean in this sentence?
Thanks.

I've never played that game. There is a common phrase in English, "Wake
up and smell the roses," which means "Come back to reality," and people
like to play around with it, using other words in place of "Roses."
One variation caught on and became very popular, and that is "Wake up
and smell the coffee."

That's just to the best of my current knowledge. I haven't researched it
or anything, so if you are really interested, you may want to.

This is the first time I've heard the phrase "Wake up and smell the roses,"
and the "coffee" version of it, and I liked them very much!
I'll try to find the situation where I can use them.
Thanx very much for introducing us the phrases!

I mostly voted Democrat, but I also voted for some non-Democrats, too.

Bush isn't up for election; he's leaving in 2008, no matter what, thank
goodness. What _is_ up for election today is a large number of House
and Senate seats; those, in some ways, are more important than who's
the president. The Congress proposes legislation; the President cannot
initiate his own. Only because Bush has had the support of many
Republicans has he been able to do many of the things he's done.

Isn't that a shame.

It seems that the democratic party won this election.

I think Hilary Clinton is COOL~~~~

There's an expression, "colder than a witch's tit."
(Probably because witches have poor circulation.)

Interesting. I've heard of "as cold as ice" and "as cool as a cucumber" before,
but never of this one. But why American people think a cucumber is cool is still
a mystery to me, though.

LOLOL
merkin is so funny LOL
merkin must be the king of comedy LMAO

>>990
Also in Japan, cucumber is considered cool, because when you get a sun burn,
you apply sliced cucumbers to cool down the burnt skin.

It's true. But I don't know how effective it is.

That's a bunch of BS.
Cucumbers are regarded not cool, but cooling down, or disperse, heat when applied that way.
There is a world of difference between the two.
