Would anyone be willing to tell me what the names of the members of a band? I can't find their names written in English letters.
You have to go to the "profile&diary" section at the bottom and the members names(or stage names) are written. If you do this for me could you please list their names from the top to the bottom member on that page.

Here's the website:
http://dollis-marry.com/index4.html

Thanks in advance if someone tells me.

Oh, I forgot, the link might take you to another page, but there should be a link at the top that can take you to the right website.

As you know, Prime Minister Koizumi modified medical-related laws.
The change will no doubt put in a
hard position both the elderly people and those who need medical help.

I wouldn't take him seriously, I mean, he isn't an English
speaker. He wanted to say something but as you know, he's not
able to write in English(though he can read), so he was bluffing.
I guess he thought he can draw attention from people in this thread
if he said he comes from an English-speaking country.
But he couldn't say a thing about his identity except that
he could understand English.

Let's change the subject.

Do you think >>54 is a native speaker?
If you do, why did he bother to reply in japanese?
And why did he go away after all that happened?

I guess he was a liar. He wanted to wreck a havoc.
That's why he was being rude after we pointed out
he wasn't. He thought his English would strick us as
very natural but he guessed wrong. That's why
he went mad and messed around.

>>54 sucks.

that's enough. stop blaming people okay???
what i hope right now is that he is asking for the Lord for forgiveness.
also, you need to ask him for forgiveness too.
do not worry... he has mercy.
people who pray for him are always saved...

I don't want this thread inactive and sluggish,
though it's tough to talk to heated people.

"a unanimous" is correct. 'An' is used before a vowel sound, not a vowel.
The 'u' in unanimous, university, universe, uniform are all /ˈju:/ (starts with palatal approximant
, a consonant, think "you"); while words with the prefix un- such as unable, are /ʌn/ (Open-mid back unrounded
vowel, think "cut" or "sun").

You can't believe Maki chan is a holy angel.

Thank you, nice guy! We will invite you to our wedding ceremony.

Maki seems very reserved and withdrawn.
I think it's not enjoyable to be with her.

I like more cheerful girls. Why do I need to go out with her?
That's not acceptable.

I'd never ask her out for 100 million dollars.

She feels the sweetest, enjoyably and happiest to the side of me.
she actually dislikes TV.

Maki is really gloomy. I don't want to spend time with that kind
of girl. It's boring to be with her.

Don't speak ill of my angel Maki chan's dispositon!

What do you think about a life like that?
She is withdrawn and gloomy, never become open-minded.
That's hard, isn't it?

She's just awesome Awesome AWESOME!!!

She's boring. Why do you think she's awesome?
Awful, isn't she?

She is mine, that's all! Don't speak ill of her!
She is an angel.

Do as you like. I don't care what you want with her.
I wouldn't ask her out whatever happens.
She doesn't deserve me.

Americans will say "no" when affirming a negative question, where British English types will answer "yes".

e.g.
You're not eating pens, are you?
American: No, I'm not eating pens.
Brit: Yes, I'm not eating pens.

I didn't speak ill of her. I'm not concerned about her.
You are too sensitive to notice nobody but you wants
anything to do with her.

Ok I don't speak about our sweetest things in front of you anymore.

I prefer more cheerful and talkative girls completely unlike that Maki girl.
She's much too withdrawn and boring.

Really? I didn't know that! Interesting.

Keep in mind that I would refuse Maki's offer, though she
would never give up. I'd be fed up with her.

Steve Soreise, who used to be an anchorman of CNN, states
in his book that your mother language abilities are connected
to learning another langueage. According to him, the best
learners of English have been elementary school teachers
because they put difficult words into easy ones. They
are good at Japanese.

Do the Japanese worship Yasukini Shrine?

Yasukuni Shrine honors as kami the spirits of those who have fought on behalf of the emperor,
regardless of whether they died in combat.
Still, about 1,000 of the enshrined spirits were POWs executed for war crimes during World War II.
The main criterion for enshrinement for war dead is that a person should be listed as having died
while on duty (including death from illness or disease) in the war dead registry of the Japanese government.
The Japanese government lists all executed A, B, and C class war criminals as such for technical reasons
to ensure that the remaining family members can receive a pension.
On October 17, 1978, 14 Class A war criminals (according to the judgment of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East),
including Hideki Tojo, were quietly enshrined as "Martyrs" ostensibly
on the technicality that they were on the registry. They are listed below, according to their sentences:

Death by hanging:
Hideki Tojo, Itagaki Seishiro, Heitaro Kimura, Kenji Doihara, Iwane Matsui, Akira Muto, Koki Hirota
Lifetime imprisonment:
Yoshijiro Umezu, Kuniaki Koiso, Kiichiro Hiranuma, Toshio Shiratori
20-year imprisonment:
Shigenori Togo
Died before a judicial decision was reached (due to illness or disease):
Osami Nagano, Yosuke Matsuoka

When this was revealed to the media on April 19, 1979, it started a controversy
which continues to this day. For China, North and South Korea, and other nations that
suffered from Japanese military aggression and occupation, the shrine
is a symbol of Japanese militarism and right-wing nationalism.

The mentality of Japanese soldiers in WWII is:
1. Absolute obedience. It's deeply rooted in Japanese culture, esp. in the army.
2. Worship of the emperor. The emperor is the living God.
3. To die for the emperor is the target of Samurais.
4. Deeply rooted racial superiority. Believe their people are sons of the God, destined to lead the world.
5. Japan has limited territory and resources. Expansion is necessary for Japan's survival.

In the millitarism era, Japanese soldiers was treated inhumanly by the higher rank officials.
Old soldiers tortured and humilliated new soldiers for fun.
All soldiers have to go through drills like bayoneting live person to enhance 'courage'.
Psychologically, those who are treated inhumanly will treat more inhumanly to those
who are unfortunate enough to fall in their hands.

The problem is that Japan's action does not match her words.
Yes they apologized to the China and Korea for brutal mass murders and rape,
but then they turned around to worship their war-crime generals. Key word here is WORSHIP.
It is hard for people not to feel that the official apologies are just superficial words.
I’ll take some excerpts from a report by BBC News.

“Yasukuni Shrine - the name means 'peaceful country' - was founded in 1869 on the orders of Emperor Meiji.
At the centre of the shrine's controversy is the fact that those venerated include 14 convicted class A war criminals,
including Prime Minister General Hideki Tojo. Within the shrine, the souls of the dead are worshipped rather
than just remembered. Surrounded by war banners and military regalia, the Yasukuni kami are venerated by hundreds
of thousands of visitors who attend the shrine each year. Current Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has made four visits
to Yasukuni since he took office in 2001.”

And those who were killed in fighting includes those who fight against Europeans

What do you think about lonely man?
Some people in this thread started to think he had told
lies to us, and I can't say they were wrong.
He was a bit dubious... The problem is, why did he want to
cut the figure as a false foreigner?
My guess is that he is from Japan, but his lie was only that.
I mean, he is lonely. That's not a lie.

What's your view?

Not so cool, boy.
But what I find very nice about this thread is,
anything goes as long as you talk in English.
Sure, sometimes there comes those who affect to be an English speaker,
and they start to chat in Japanese. I hate them because they
break the biggest rule here. But for the most part,
we have fun talking in English. So I hope you will like this
thread and keep the rule.

818 :Spence:2006/06/19(月) 23:42:50

A huge amount of requests are send to the web servers and make these servers

Today we experienced a 500 Meg+ per second DDos attack that is still ongoing.
We have updated our core routers today to battle with the problem.
During this time we experienced unreasonable down time.
We have been in contact with the ISP that is responsible for the attacking computers
and they where less then helpful in the situation,
so we are dealing directly with their BandWidth providers.

I thought I was talking with you...

>>887
Don't be so reserved. Go ahead.
Your idea will be considered, of course.

890 :Spence:2006/06/20(火) 01:10:39
May i ask... who is who, everyone has unknown in there names.. i am getting very confused..

Anonymity is highly valued in 2ch.
We don't even know how many people there are in this thread.

>>890
There have been a few people who post anonymously.
But don't worry about it so much. You'll get used to it soon.

At least four people, then.

894 :Spence:2006/06/20(火) 01:15:45
Oh i see... i kinda dunno who im talking to, cant you make up random names like bob so people know who they are talking too XDDDD hahaha

When we post without names, we can be irresponsible for what we post lol.

I thought you watched Densha Otoko, Spence.
You've happened to use a name, but you can talk anonymously.
If you delete your name in the box right next to 名前,
your name will be 名無しさん@英語勉強中.
If we want to be recognised, we can use specific user name,
though, like you have been doing so.

897 :Spence:2006/06/20(火) 01:19:08
... i see... hmm.. that means in future i will never know if its you guys im talking too again T___T

By the way, I'm a fan of Harry Potter.
Do you read the series of the books, Spence?
I thought you are from the UK, right?

900 :Spence:2006/06/20(火) 01:24:29
Speaking of Harry Potter i am on webcam with a Japanese friend and he just said i look like him T___T

Yes i am a fan of the books, they are quite good ^^ are you?

>>897
Don't worry about it, Spence.
The number of poeple who talk in English is relatively small
even here in the English board. So we have a good chance of
talking to the same people again, though it's tough to
recognise who's who, though. But I'm sure I'll talk to
you if you pay a visit here again. Well, I'll say don't
worry about it, when I see you again.

>>900
What's websome, by the way?
Is it a famous website, right?

And you look like Daniel Radcliff? No wonder, because you are
from the same country as his!
Anyway, yeah, they are really very good. I read all of them
many times. Would you care if I talked about the book more?

I mean, the books. Sorry about that.

Who said porno is dead?

>>904
Hmm? Can you be more specific?
I've never heard anyone said porno was dead.

>>906
Well, I haven't read Death Note, sorry.

So I want to exchange opinions about lots of things of harry potter.
1) Snape really betray the Order of Phenix? What did he argue with
Dumbledore when he said the headmaster asked for more than Snape
could handle or something?
2) Who's the guy who stole the horcrux in the cave?

>>907
Ah, I must've been slow. Thanks.

The youth rebellion [1968] is a worldwide phenomenon that has not been seen before in history. I do not believe they will calm down and be ad execs at thirty as the Establishment would like us to believe.
