私は外人です

1 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 01:23:31
But I don't speak Japanese very well. :( Kanji is a real bitch by the way.

Anyone want to chat?

I'm Finnish... 17/m/Espoo

8 :& ◆QWv3R1XL8M :2006/03/30(木) 02:29:08
why do you think kanji is a 'real bitch'?

9 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 02:37:37
well because there are so many readings...I hate them!!! And I forget their meanings. :( ...or how to draw them.

But I love japanese! :D I know all the hiragana and katakana.

10 :& ◆QWv3R1XL8M :2006/03/30(木) 02:47:12
but I wouldn't think you can deal with things in Japanese without kanji.
and mostly complicated kanji are made of simple ones.

11 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 02:49:13

12 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 02:50:25
If you speak Finnish (which is a "real bitch"!!! - so hard to learn!!!)
I think Japanese is easy.
I mean reading is a different thing, but speaking's straight forward
in my opinion.

13 :& ◆QWv3R1XL8M :2006/03/30(木) 03:06:10
I guess Finnish and Japanese have a common basic word order (subject-object-verb).
Does Finnish has complicated conjugations or something?
I hear many foreign Japanese learners have difficulty in learning Japanese honorific language, instead of that problem.

14 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 03:25:27

15 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 03:44:06
No, lol, Finnish has the same word order as other european languages!
but we can put the verb in the end of the sentence (it'll just sound more poetic, though).
Finnish and Japanese are pronounced in the same way (except there are some small differences) so speaking Japanese isn't hard at all.

It's good that the comlicated ones are made of the simpler ones, but still I have some trouble with them. And the on and kun readings, they're not always easy to remember. :-/

16 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 03:45:46
They join 2 (or more) words together like Dutch, right?
When I was in Helsinki I just couldn't work out the signs,
streetnames etc. it was sooooooooo hard to remember.

At least Japanese you can just remember the kanji shapes.

17 :& ◆QWv3R1XL8M :2006/03/30(木) 04:28:35
Oh, I see.
Well, yes, 2 or more words are often combined as a single word.

We don't just memorise how to read kanji.
We somehow learn how to read them while spelling words.

18 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 04:45:36
I was actually thinking of learning the kanji by learning to spell vocabulary. I don't know how successful I'll be, though :-/

Yeah, we make lots of new words by combining old ones, like lentokone (airplane), which comes from the verb lentää (to fly) and kone (machine) or tietokone (computer)
which comes from either tieto (knowledge) or tietää (to know) and kone.

19 :& ◆QWv3R1XL8M :2006/03/30(木) 05:27:52
So, nouns end with '-o' and verbs with '-ää'?

20 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 07:02:24
Why do u learn Japanese by the way? Is there any problems for
you to speak English with Japanese people? I think they like it.

Actually there is no way for Americans to speak Japanese fluently,
Cuz the total different culture backgrounds.

21 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2006/03/30(木) 07:34:04

gaijin in japan should be immediately deported out of this holy land.

Why do you pretend to be uneducated by spelling words in such a way?
Moreover, your words may sound offensive.

The thread maker seems misunderstanding about this board as if it were a chat room.
I guess that he didn't gave any attentions to the cautions of this board, which is written in Japanese.
I give this word to him.

"It is hard to use this board for the people who can't see the false things as false. "

だから外国のパソコンで日本語「私は外人です」を打とうと思ったら
わざわざIMEパッドの設定かコントロールパネルで言語の設定変えないといけないわけ。
だからフィンランド人にそこまで考える
超日本好きがいるかっつう話よ。
